Abdollah Alimorad, Special Guest at 17th Festival Internacional de Cine para niños (…y no tan niños)

17th Festival Internacional de Cine para niños (…y no tan niños) was held on August 7-12, 2012 in Mexico City. The festival aims to familiarize Mexican children with different cultures, traditions and languages by screening various films from all around the world.

The festival which founded in 1995 has been supported by some cultural and artistic institutions. Regarding the bigness of the city, organizers this year decided to show the films in different locations for the ease of children. This festival is also regarded as a great opportunity for film makers to present their latest productions to Mexican distributers.

The festival consists of:

  • Feature films and animated feature films
  • Short films
  • Short animated films
  • Documentaries about children
  • Films made by Mexican children or other nationalities (non competitive)

Winners of each section will be granted a symbolic award and all accepted works will also receive a letter of commendation.

Director of “The Farmer & the Robot” whose film was accepted in animation section and screened on 8th and 10th of August, and two other directors were officially invited as special guests by the secretary of the festival to attend the event.

In his seven day trip to Mexico City, Mr. Alimorad introduced his animations and talked about stop motion technique.

Kanoon had submitted 14 animations to this festival.
