Eastern Breeze and Kanoon’s Animations

Upated on :July 16, 2014

Eastern Breeze International Film Festival is an annual film festival held in Toronto, Canada, which previews short (less than 12 minutes) and mid-length(less than 45minutes) films of all genres, including documentary, animation, fiction and experimental, from around the world which contain an eastern taste or philosophy. This is a public film festival that takes place every October in Toronto.

Eastern Breeze International Film Festival aims to give new talent an opportunity to have their work screened for cinema fans who would be unable to find these films in their local movie theatres. EBIFF strives to highlight the enigmatic eastern arts and cultures, introducing the existential humanist, and soulful characteristics of these bracing cultures in the context of a modern, Western Canada. By helping to bridge that gap, we celebrate Canada’s rich multicultural community.

A 1000$ cash prize will be granted to the winner of each section (total of six). Also first-time directors of short films will be eligible for the jury prize of 2000$ to be used for the creation of second film. Selection is based on a rating system that considers both innovation and skill.

Kanoon has submitted six of its 2013 animations to the festival among which “The kitten” by Shiva Sadegh Asadi and “secret of that tree” by Moeen Samadi will     be vying for the grand prize along with other 19 selected animations. This year’s edition of the festival will be held on 18-29 October, 2014.
