Kanoon’s animations to catch the Chinese Golden Monkey King

Two of kanoon’s short animated films will be shown in the 9th China’s largest annual cartoon and animation event CICAF, from April 26th to May 1st, 2o13 in Hangzhou. The festival which has already passed 8 successful consecutive years, has managed to gain an international reputation and acclaim. CICAF comes in four major parts – exhibitions, activities, forums and competitions.

“Mammy Crow and the Fox” by Mohammad Ali Soleymanzadeh and “The Fox who followed the Sound” by Fatemeh Gudarzi will be shown in one of the most significant parts of CICAF, the “Golden Monkey King” award competition that boasts the authority that comes from the supports of Chinese governments at all levels; professionals from academic organizations; and veteran practitioners in the field of cartoon and animation. It’s worth noting that the design of this mischievous monkey which is regarded as the mascot of CICAF was created by Han Meilin, a famous artist in China.

In addition to the competition, this Award also provides a communication platform for artists and professionals of international relevance, who focus on the most-up-to-date topics of animation entertainment industry. The “Golden Monkey King” Award aims at establishing itself as a dynamic and authoritative awarding event worldwide.

There are cash prizes beside the trophy and other awards as golden, silver and bronze which will be granted to winners of the following categories.

Animated feature, Animation TV series, Animated short film, Animation script, Cartoon character and Comic.

The 2013 “Golden Monkey King” award receives about 700 entries this year, 56 of them are selected into the final appraisal and the result will come out on April 25th and be released on the spot of the Award Ceremony, April 26th.
