Kanoon’s First Presence in World Content Market

Founded in 2007, the World Content Market is a one-stop marketplace for television, film and media executives. The event creates a great opportunity for media mangers, buyers, sellers and distributers to launch new products, build brand awareness, generate acquisitions and sales, retain existing partners, and meet new prospects.

With the aim of introducing and showcasing its products in Europe, Kanoon participated in this year’s market which was held on 17–18 February 2014, in Prague. Reportedly its booth was visited in the early hours of the market by a German audio visual producer, Uzbek TV and radio broadcasting, Georgian radio station and acquisition manager of Al Jazeera channel in Turkey.

Last year, the market was held in two of the most beautiful European cities of Prague and Venice. For the next year, organizers are going to put their strategic focus on audiovisual industry in Central, Eastern Europe, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Central Asia, Caucasus, and Baltic States. So the event will take place respectively on 28-30 April 2014, in Moscow and 18-20 June 2014, in Odessa.

The market welcomes Participants from over 60 countries of Europe, USA, Canada, Latin America, Middle East, Asia and Africa. Among them: TV channels (all platforms), distributors, producers, studios, VOD Platforms, cable and satellite operators, portals and social networks, mobile operators, content aggregators, associations, etc.

In a relaxed environment specific to the World Content Market, participants buy and sell all genres of products for all platforms: movies, series, mini-series, telenovelas, animation, kids programming, documentaries, formats, music, sport, entertainment, lifestyle, archives, news, current affairs, etc.

Participants also can use the powerful on-line matchmaking facilities (that include the full database of registered delegates, their product information, contact details, research engine and appointment setting tools). With use of the market database, they can identify clients, prospects, and schedule meetings in advance.

It’s worth to mention that Kanoon presented 22 films in the second Prague International Iranian Film Festival including “Runner”, “Homework”, “Bashoo, the little stranger”, “The Deliverance”, “Key”, “Where’s friend’s house?”, “Wooden pistols”, “Waiting”, “Moradoo”, “Break time”,” The Concordant”, “The Uncle with Mustached”, “Mr. Principal”, “Mother”, Alchemist”, “Bald Pigeon Fancier”, “Rolling pumpkin”, “The Farmer and The Robot”, “The Fox that Followed the Sound” and “The Wolf and The Ewe ”. With a sheer artistic approach, the festival has started since 2012 with no political inclination.
