Kiarostami Gives Master Class at the 54th FICCI

The 54th edition of the International Film Festival of Cartagena de Indias was held on March 13-19, 2014 featuring a retrospective of and Master Class by the internationally acclaimed Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami.

According to the international and public affair department of KANOON, some this prominent director’s films including KANOON productions were featured in the event among which “Life, and Nothing More” (1992) and “Where is the Friend’s Home?” (1987) were screened.

Kiarostami who is not only a director but also a screenplay writer, producer and photographer gave a master class to Colombian filmmakers and art students which consisted of a cinematographic dialogue with a Latin American director chosen by the festival. The event included a screening of scenes from some of his movies.

Abbas Kiarostami’s presence at the International Film Festival of Cartagena was sponsored by the University of Magdalena and made possible thanks to producer Blackfactory Cinema in alliance with Medio de Contención Productions, companies that organized the workshop “Filming in Colombia with Abbas Kiarostami” in Bogotá from the 3rd to the 12th of March, 2014 at the Centro ÁTICO of the Universidad Javeriana of Bogotá.
