Romania to Host “ The Kitten” and “White Pigeon Next to Mirror”

The 21st Romanian International Short Film Festival, ALTER-NATIVE will run on 6-10 November 2013. Held for the first time in 1993, the festival is one of the oldest eastern European festivals which is held annually every November.

With the aim of supporting local filmmakers and reviving the talents, the festival welcomes a wide variety of short films, features films and documentaries which will be screened with English or Romanian subtitle.

The Hungarian Democratic Youth Union from Mures County is one of the oldest and with the largest activity among the youth organizations in Romania which organizes yearly the ALTER-NATIVE International Short Film Festival.

The Youth Information and Counseling Office, which is open year long, eases the possibility for the youth from Mures County to access useful information concerning socio-cultural events, and other information helping to solve personal and group problems.

The organization also offers various entertainment possibilities including concerts, series of lectures, exhibitions, performances, film projections, excursions etc.

Kanoon’s “The Kitten” by Shiva Sadegh Asadi and “white pigeon next to mirror” by Maryam Khalilzade” have been selected to to contend in the completion section of this year’s festival and are scheduled to be screened respectively on Thursday, November 7., 14:00-15:25 and 17:20-18:45 along with films from Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, Russia, Croatia, Switzerland, Romania, Hungary.

It should be mentioned that Hamed Akrami’s “Kermando”, Sare Tabibzadeh’s “Lady with Flower-Hair” and Mohammad Farahani’s “Theft” are other Iranian films which are to be shown respectively on 7th and 9th of November 2013.
