Masnavi-e-Ma’navi is one of the most prominent persian literary works which conveys the mystical contexts of philosophy and wisdom in the form of anecdotes and allegories and it has been writtten in verse by Molana Jalaleddin-e-Mohammad Balkhi (Rumi).

The story of this book which has been extracted and rewritten from this great literary work is about an encaged parrot which is set free with the help of a group of parrots through a message which is given to it by the merchant. What is that message and how the encaged paorrot decodes it makes the theme of this story.
